Marilona S. Galindo, Founder and Sole Proprietor of Marilona Makeovers, is an internationally respected Professional Makeup Artist with an outstanding knowledge of advanced makeup artistry. She is passionate and committed to providing her clients with outstanding service, flawless makeup application, and a personalized, pampered experience. Marilona has true enthusiasm for everything makeup, as makeup is, in her words,

Born and raised in the Washington DC/Metro area, she has always had a talent for the arts. Born to extremely artistic parents - her father a visual arts teacher and Freelance Artist with a Master’s Degree in Painting and her mother an inventive craftswoman with her own business - Marilona has always loved to paint, draw, and be creative, and has always been intrigued by color and beautiful things.

Growing up in such an artistic environment and having a passion for beautifying, Marilona learned several different makeup techniques from studying makeup books, analyzing pictures and techniques in magazines and other media, and experimenting with color and testing several cosmetics brands and their products on herself and friends, thus becoming a self-taught Makeup Artist. Upon graduation from high school, Marilona was immediately hired in 2004 as a Makeup Artist by MAC Cosmetics, an internationally respected premiere cosmetics company which has become synonymous with glamour due to its ever-growing presence in the fashion industry, continued use of celebrity endorsements, and commitment to cruelty-free products and universal diversity.* Through MAC Cosmetics, she gained a greater knowledge of professional makeup skills by taking workshops and through countless hours of apprenticeship which was attained by working with customers of all different colors, ages, skin types, genders, and needs. Marilona is MAC Certified in Communication Skills and Specialized Makeup Application and is currently a MAC Pro Member, an organization which is exclusive to only professionals in the beauty and performing arts industry. She also is skilled in Airbrush Makeup Application, a real-life alternative to Photoshop.

In 2007, Marilona decided to focus on catering to clients outside of the retail environment and chose to dedicate her time to her growing freelance makeover business, Marilona Makeovers, which she established in late 2004. Currently she still works for MAC Cosmetics as a freelancer during special events and launches, and was honored to be one of the few hand-selected Artists to be a part of the “Dream Team” during MAC’s “Studio Talk” Seminars. She has had the pleasure to work at many different MAC Cosmetics boutiques and counters all across the Washington DC/Metro area and the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and has also freelanced for Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics and Skincare. Marilona was also invited as a featured guest Makeup Artist on the show “A Different Look” which aired on the Prince George's County, Maryland Community Television (CTV) Channel, an award winning, non-profit cable access facility that serves as the media hub of information for Prince George's County, Maryland.** She has also been a Makeup Artist to local newscasters, up-and-coming models, and other professional performers.

In November 2008, Marilona moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas Metroplex with her husband who is currently serving in the United States Navy. She is establishing her business, Marilona Makeovers, in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with the same reputation of outstanding service and beautiful artistry and as she has in the Washington DC/Metropolitan area. Marilona has had the pleasure of being the Makeup Artist of choice to many young ladies and women celebrating weddings, proms, and other memorable special events. She also has a growing local and international fan base through her Facebook Fan Page where she weekly shares makeup techniques, product reviews, and personally communicates with those who follow her page. Marilona Makeovers is passionate about its clients and is honored that people of all different backgrounds continue to request enhancement and professional advice to help them achieve their vision of elegance and gorgeousness and thus has had several satisfied and returning clients. Many of Marilona’s newest clients have been through word-of-mouth endorsements.

Most recently, Marilona was honored to be one of The Knot's "Best of Weddings 2011" vendors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area's Health & Beauty catagory! Less than a handful of Makeup Artists in this region were given this award which was based primarily off of client's reviews! And, just recently, a press announcement was published honoring Marilona Makeovers for the third consecutive year with The Knot's "Best of Weddings 2012 & 2013" awards! As well, Marilona Makeovers presented with WeddingWire's "Bride's Choice" Award for 2012 and 2013!

Marilona continues to expand her knowledge and techniques in the ever-evolving makeup and fashion world by constantly taking workshops on the latest beauty trends. Her goal is to help the makeup industry flourish by contributing her knowledge, advice, and vision to the industry. She prides her business on cleanliness, professionalism, and only using the best cosmetics in the industry, and is excited to meet with people who are looking to enhance their natural beauty.
